Fit for Future – Advances in Materials, Manufacturing and Assessment
October 17th - 18th, 2018
Many changes are made creating the future energy generation. More challenging and detailed questions arise regarding mainly sustainablility, safety, maintenance and reliability of conventional and nuclear plants. The focus lies on the usage of resources, renewable energy as well as optimized storage systems.
Key issues are challenges related to materials as well as structural and lifetime assessments. The seminar is dedicated to contribute to these questions.
Special emphasis lies on new manufacturing technologies. Especially additive manufacturing offers new possibilities for design, use of ressources and optimised material behavior. However, it also creates new challenges in the combination of process control and materials qualification.
A plenary session with invited lectures is intended to give overviews and different sights on the above-mentioned topics and thus to introduce the technical sessions of the seminar.
A special session is dedicated to the advanced research work at MPA Stuttgart.
